This pin marks the best place to park.  It is close to the event, but relatively unknown and free.  In fact, there are barricades at the corner of MLK and Riverfront that you have to drive past that say no entry.  But that is for the general public.

This pin marks the central viewing area.

This is a great regatta location.  There are good views of the race course including the launch area and finish line.  The course starting line is to the east out of sight.  They row up to the starting line along the far side of the river to the staging point.  When they start the race, they row back to the west toward the viewing gallery on the near side of the river.

Since this is an away regatta, we don't typically bring the Hospitality trailer, but there are plenty of vendors and restaurants near by since this is right in downtown Chattanooga.

It's best not to bring chairs since without the Hospitality trailer, there is no base camp other than where we set the boats up.  We try to get there early on a Thursday night in order to get a boat staging location close to the main waterfront, but it is possible that the boats might end up in a parking lot where no one wants to be.  The venue has many places to walk around and explore.

There is a pedestrian bridge, just east of the central viewing area called the Walnut Street Bridge, that crosses the river that makes for a great viewing location.
